Ground Penetrating Radar Life Detector

The ground penetrating radar life detector is an advanced UWB ground penetrating radar sensor, also known as a seismic/acoustic instrument, engineered to detect and locate survivors trapped under debris by identifying their movements. This state-of-the-art technology is crucial during the technical search phase of USAR (Urban Search and Rescue) operations, as well as during rescue-clearance missions.

Utilizing Ultra Wide Band (UWB) technology, the search ground penetrating radar can detect standing target up to 30 meters, detecting movements through up to 40 meters. The radar can detect victims through various materials including concrete, ruins, air, walls, snow, and wood patterns and more. However, it is important to note that electromagnetic waves cannot penetrate metal surfaces or water.

The ground-penetrating radar offers two distinct search modes to enhance rescue operations:

1. Automatic Mode: This mode conducts an automatic analysis of several predefined areas, capable of detecting up to 3 living individuals.

2. Manual Mode: Allows for manual selection and analysis of specific search areas.

The radar provides real-time depth detection of movements, distinguishing between weak movements (such as breathing) and strong movements. An oscillogram, displayed as a sine wave, enables real-time tracking and visualization of movement. Repeated wide oscillations signify repetitive movements, such as a victim tapping. The depth of these oscillations indicates the intensity of the movement, while the frequency helps determine whether the detected movement is human.

This advanced functionality ensures precise and efficient location of survivors, significantly improving the effectiveness of rescue missions.
